What are Wedding Newspapers and how can you include them in your wedding?

In a nutshell, a Wedding Newspaper is wedding stationery, but printed on tabloid newsprint paper! We can fill it with all your important details, love story, fave photos, and anything else you want to include to make it 100% you. I will help you and guide you through the process, but the way it looks and what it includes is completely up to you.

FAQs about my Wedding Newspapers...

How many pages do my Wedding Newspapers have?

Most people opt for 4 or 8 pages, but you can have any multiple of 4 pages.

How big are my Wedding Newspapers?

They are all tabloid size [289mm x 380mm], which is roughly halfway between A4 and A3 and are printed on 55gsm sustainably sourced newsprint paper [exactly the same as the tabloids you pick up at the corner shop], which is an absorbent and fairly low grade of paper. I feel it's the most authentic size and gives you the scope to add lots of your lovely personalities.

How are my Wedding Newspapers printed?

I outsource my printing as real newspaper printing is very specialist. The newspapers are digitally printed by industrial size inkjet printers [with water soluble pigments in the inks], but still retain the look and feel of traditional print methods.

Is there a minimum order?

There is no minimum or maximum numbers for ordering, but the price does vary depending on the quantity and number of pages and they need to be in multiples of 5.

How many Wedding Newspapers do you need?

As a general rule, I say you need one per person. This is not because I want you to order more, it's based purely on the logistics of giving them to guests. If you think about when you are giving them out, you need to figure out whether this needs to be managed. E.g. If you want to hand them one per family/couple before your ceremony, does the person handing them out know everyone to be able to know who is with who and give them out correctly? Your guests won't know it's one per couple/family and it could lead to confusion or them taking more than they need and then someone else missing out. It could become complicated or stressful.

There are a few exceptions where you won't need one per person and it's easy to manage. Firstly, if they are being used for invitations. Obviously, they will be per household as a general rule, so it's simple to manage. Another exception might be if you are giving one per table or putting in the rooms at a destination wedding. I generally say if the numbers are based on people, then you need one each, if they are based on something else [e.g. table, household, room etc. then you base the amount of wedding newspapers required on that figure. it really depends on your plans and how you're intending to use the wedding newspapers. I will always advise what I think if you have a specific question...you just have to ask.

You don't have final numbers so don't know how many to book for, what should you do?

In order to get you booked in, I ask for a figure that you think you need. If you know this, great, if not don't worry. You can give me a ballpark figure to get booked in and we can adjust this up or down when you come to making the final payment, I won't make you have more than you need. The only thing I ask is that the figure is a multiple of 5.

FAQs about my design process...

How do I create the perfect Wedding Newspaper for you?

The design is very much a collaboration between us, We'll brainstorm and work together over DM, email and video calls etc. I'll help with ideas and inspiration, but what it looks like and what it contains, really is up to you.

Whether you have a clear idea of what design you'd like or not, it doesn't matter, I will help you! I'll get to know you, your plans and style so that I can make recommendations and suggestions. it really helps me to understand the bigger picture so if you have specific ideas, themes, photos and/or a Pinterest board, send them to me. If you like something from my previous designs, we can of course use it and tweak it to your requirements. you may also want to consider matching some elements to any stationery you've previously sent out, if so, just send them to me. Don't worry though, I'll hold your hand through the whole process.

What's my process?

Once you're booked in, I'll work with you to work out exactly what to include. First we'll discuss your requirements and any themes/ideas you have and bounce ideas around.

Once we agree on the requirements, I'll create a Draft Newspaper for your approval which will be sent to you in PDF format. You will be able to amend this until you are happy, at which point I will send it to print. After this no further changes can be made, so it's important that you check everything before approving it for print.

What information do you need?

Because all of my Wedding Newspapers are bespoke, what you need to send will be dependent on your design requirements. I'll provide you with a bunch of resources for ideas and inspiration to help you decide and We can have a call any time you need help, get stuck or need to brainstorm.

I've written a blog post full of top tips, inspiration and considerations to make when designing wedding newspapers, check it out here.

How do you send your content, photos etc to me?

I'll send you a Dropbox folder link for you to add everything to [If you'd prefer to use a different method such as We Transfer, that's fine...I'm pretty flexible as long as I get what we need in some way]. Please send photos in .jpg or .png format if possible.

What fonts and colours can you use?

I usually match or use similar fonts to ideas you send me. If you have a specific font let me know the name or if you have the font file, send it to me. If you don't know what fonts you'd like, you can choose your own from dafont.com or I will choose ones that suit your design requirements.

If you have a specific colour palette you'd like me to use, please provide the colours in CMYK format as this is what the newspapers are printed in. If you have hex, then I will use this to get as close a match as possible as it doesn't always directly match. If you want to create your own colour palette to use, I recommend coolors.co [you can send me the .PDF of your colours easily too].

I want a Crossword, what do you need?

I have an app so I just need 15-20 questions with answers, I'll do the rest.

How long will it take for me to create your Wedding Newspapers?

I try to allow a minimum of 2 months lead time from start to finish to give me time to comfortably create, approve, print and send your wedding Newspapers to you. If you you book with less than 2 months, I will advise you on any deadlines and guide you through my process at every stage, so you don't need to worry about anything. A bespoke design takes on average 2-3 days to complete, so Once I have all of your information, i aim to get a draft to you within 1-2 weeks. We will then amend the design until you are happy for it to be printed.

How long will it take for me to deliver your Wedding Newspapers?

Once designed and approved to print, Printing typically takes one week. as soon as I receive them, I will package them up and send via Royal Mail signed for 1st class or Parcel Force Express48 unless advised otherwise. Once posted I'll provide you with the details so that you can track your delivery. Where a delivery is required outside of the UK, this service will be detailed on your quotation.

Reviews...What my past Wedding Newspaper clients have said

Sarah created one of her amazing bespoke newspapers for my wedding recently and I could not have been more thrilled with the final result! Sarah was considerate, kind and patient right through the whole process and struck a really great balance between making suggestions and letting us find our own path. Our guests loved the newspapers and they were a really highlight of the wedding day. I highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for an extra something special for any occasion.

Hope & Sam

From the moment I messaged Sarah, she was amazing!! I struggled across her amazing Instagram page and I knew instantly I needed her work at my wedding. I am the most indecisive, laid back person ever, so when it came to designing the newspapers, I pretty much gave her free reign to do anything she fancied. AND SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Seeing them on a PDF, I loved them, seeing them in real life. Absolutely insane!! They were just incredible and truly reflected what I wanted. I cannot recommend Sarah enough, a wonderful, talented, chilled, cool and amazing person!!

Chrissie & Jordan

Thank you Sarah for everything you did in designing our fabulous wedding newspapers. You captured our disco vision perfectly and the end result was beyond
expectation. You were also very patient with our edits and no request was too small. Your communication was excellent and you were so friendly and
approachable, we really appreciate it. We cannot recommend your services highly enough!

Emily & Nick
